Meet the Recipient of Volunteer Service Award for Disaster/Emergency Response in 2015, 
Captain Daniel Boudreau!

Last year, our own Captain (then 1st Lt.) Daniel Boudreau of Skagit Composite Squadron was recognized by Governor Jay Inslee and Serve Washington with a Governor's Volunteer Service Award for his efforts in the Disaster/Emergency Response community!

Besides serving as Skagit Composite Squadron's Assistant Activities Officer, Aerospace Education Officer, Cadet Activities Officer, Deputy Commander for Cadets, Emergency Services Training Officer, and Squadron Leadership Officer, Capt. Boudreau volunteers and has developed partnerships with Skagit County, the Skagit County Sheriff's Office and the Skagit Search and Rescue Council

By day, Capt. Boudreau, aka "Gunnery Sgt. Boudreau" calls upon his Marine experience in his position as a Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Instructor at Burlington-Edison High School.

Serve Washington is now accepting nominations for the 13th annual Governor’s Volunteer Service Awards, which recognizes individuals, volunteer groups and families for their volunteer efforts. The awards honor some of Washington’s most dedicated individuals and groups for their commitment to volunteerism as the foundation for caring communities and a thriving Washington.

Important dates

February 9, 2017 - Nominations due
March 13-17, 2017 - Recipients selected and notified
April 11, 2017 - Serve Washington will host a ceremony in the morning to honor recipients at the Executive Mansion in Olympia.
April 11, 2017 - Seattle Mariners Salute to Volunteers Night on-field pre-game ceremony to honor recipients.
